Now, my first thoughts were, oh crap, I don't understand a word of what anyone is saying, followed by oh crap, we seem to be the only foreigners here! But this was slowly replaced with thoughts of holy crap, the food here is amazing! And oh my god, this place is surrounded by mountains!
Now we've only been here a short time but I already have a few things of note to say...
I don't recognise ANYTHING, there are NO products from England. Though there is a vast range of cold lattes avaliable in most places (I am at the moment drinking Seattle style Starbucks latte in a mini plastic takeaway cup)
The Japanese LOVE vending machines. You can even buy beer in them. If this were to be introduced in England I don't think people could handle it, it would be mere minutes until the vending machine would be trashed.) There's actually a small room right next to ours with a couple vending machines.
There is Engrish everywhere (google it if you don't know what I'm talking about). And food names are funny, for example; cream collon and a very appetising cheese curry...
Now, we haven't been out yet really so I'm sorry for the uneventful information I'm giving you. Jamie has just received his translator/gps pocket pc thingy (which he is trying to work out at the moment), so be assured I will venture out soon. So in the meantime I will leave you with a picture of me and a Japanese toilet. Hot.

NOICE!
ReplyDeleteHope the rest of your stay is as spiffing. Keep us posted.
